Review of The Halfway House, Fernhill Heath, Worcester : Great Traditional Pub Food
The Halfway House at Fernhill Heath just outside Worcester offers great value traditional pub food.
The pub is located in the centre of the village on the Droitwich Road (A38) next door to the Post Office.
With a bar and a lounge the pub has all the hallmarks of an good village pub. Real ales on offer are from Marstons, Banks and Jennings.
However, it is the pub meals that set The Halfway House above other Worcestershire pubs. The emphasis is on great value fresh cooked food.
Two of the star attractions on the menu are the faggots and the fish cakes. The faggots are made from well seasoned pork and liver served in a rich gravy. Accompanying them are mushy peas and beautifully butter mash.
The homemade fishcake contains smoked and white fish with fluffy masked potato. It is usually served with chips, peas and coleslaw. The Halfway House usually has a varied choice of fish available on the menu.
The Halfway House at Fernhill Heath offers exceptional pub grub in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I can think of nowhere better in Worcestershire to have a pub lunch.

The Halfway House is a great place to have a meal. Look out for the specials as there is always great value to be had. I particularly recommend the fishcakes.
