Bells and Whistles Kids is an online childrens boutique where you will find a collection of unique and special children’s clothing & gifts with a nostalgic twist, for imaginative and spirited boys and girls aged 18 months to 10 years.
www.bellsandwhistleskids.co.uk is the brainchild of Kirstin Crane and Eleanor Howes who combine their years of experience as a fashion designer and marketer into this new business venture. Their aim is to provide a high quality shopping experience for mothers and grandmothers looking for something different from the high street.
‘Our inspiration is to see children dressed as children – not as mini adults’, explains Kirstin (32, Fashion Designer and mum of two girls). ‘We aim to provide something a little bit different and special –lovely, nostalgic clothing that’s good quality and also very wearable.’
British Made or Designed Childrens Clothes
The mainstay of the website is products that are either British made, designed or both. Brands include Darcy Brown, Their Nibs, Dandy Star, Norfolk-based graphic designer Petra Boase and one–off vintage pieces by renowned London designer Christa Davis.
In October 2009 their coastal boutique near Burnham Market, Norfolk opened it’s doors which showcases the full collection of clothing and gifts, together with handmade pieces by Norfolk-based craftsmen.
Childrens Clothes Home Shopping Parties
Through the website customers can also book home shopping parties which are aimed to bring together mums and grandmothers for a relaxing shopping evening. Guests receive an informal presentation of the brands and their background, receive suggestions and ideas and then they can have a browse and chat.
‘There’s no pressure to buy buy buy, though of course people are tempted and it’s great if they find something they love’, explains Eleanor (31, Marketer and mum of two). The idea for the parties as well as the website came about because we want to get to know customers and build up relationships. It might be an economic slump, but mums still enjoy getting together, having a good time and getting a little something special for their children or grandchildren.’
Bells & Whistles continues to expand its children’s clothing and gifts range with the introduction of two new clothing brands for Spring 2010, I Love Gorgeous and Little Lily.
