Breweries & Beer UK
What is your favourite British beer and from which brewery? Are you a real ale fan or does a good lager quench your thirst. Or maybe you are a brewer and you would like the opportunity to tell British drinkers of your excellent porter or your amazing IPA.
Britain has a long and admirable traditional of brewing. Many of our breweries have been brewing traditional beers for centuries. Every town used to have its own brewery, unfortunately, consolidation and mergers have meant that many famous names have disappeared along with the beers that they brewed. However, there is no need to be bitter about this as recently there has been a growth in micro-breweries and craft brewers, who have set up to produce traditional real ales or beers with a modern twist.
Many breweries are now open to the public as a tourist attraction and allow visitors to witness the brewer’s craft. Visitors can find out how barley, hops, yeast and water are combined to produce a magnificent ale. They can see the herireviewe of the buildings, traditional wooden barrels and shire horses pulling drays. And of course at the end of the tour there is an opportunity to sample the beer. Will one pint be enough though?
